Kau To Shan

Kau To Shan is a mountain peak in the Sha Tin District of Hong Kong, with an elevation of 399 meters, located in the northwest of Fo Tan. This mountain has been inhabited by indigenous people since the Qing Dynasty era. However, in the 1970s, the land in this area was used as a digging site for the construction of the Sha Tin Racecourse, which was commissioned by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Over time, the area has been divided into two main regions: the traditional Kau To Shan area developed in the 1980s and the new Kau To Shan area developed in the 2000s. The Light Rail, also known as the Light Rail Transit (LRT),officially the North-West Railway, is a light rail system in Hong Kong, serving the northwestern New Territories, within Tuen Mun District and Yuen Long District.
